Great Northern Distillery (GND) has signed a long-term cooperation agreement with Tsingtao Brewery to supply and develop Irish whiskey for the Chinese market. The deal, finalized in Dublin on 30 July 2026, marks the Dundalk-based producer’s expansion into China through one of the country’s leading beverage companies. Under the agreement, GND will supply mature Irish whiskeys across its full portfolio, ranging from three-year-old to 21-year-old expressions. Tsingtao plans to introduce the range of Irish whiskeys through its distribution network. The two companies will also collaborate to develop whiskey labels designed for Asian consumers. A specialist blending team has been established to create styles tailored to Chinese tastes. GND will additionally provide technical expertise and support to Tsingtao as it develops its own Chinese whiskey distillery. Founded in 1903, Tsingtao Brewery is one of China’s most recognized beverage companies and ranks among the largest beer producers in the world. In 2025, the company recorded beer sales of 7.648 million kiloliters, operating revenue of approximately €4 billion, and net profit attributable to shareholders of approximately €574 million. Tsingtao products are sold in more than 120 countries and regions. Great Northern Distillery operates two distilleries on a 5.5-hectare site in Dundalk, County Louth. The facilities have an annual production capacity of eight million liters in pot stills and 12 million liters in column stills. It was established in 2014 by John Teeling, Jim Finn and David Hynes, and produces the full range of Irish whiskey styles for customers in more than 60 countries. “This agreement represents a tremendous opportunity to participate in what I believe will be the next great growth market for Irish whiskey,” said John Teeling, chairman of Great Northern Distillery. “Over the coming years, perhaps one billion people across Asia will join the middle class. As incomes rise, consumers increasingly seek premium international products and experiences, and Irish whiskey is exceptionally well placed to meet that demand.” Teeling added: “Irish whiskey’s smooth, mellow and slightly sweeter character makes it particularly well suited to Asian consumers. There can be no better partner than Tsingtao Brewery.” Jerry Buttimer TD, Minister of State for Community Development, Charities and Rural Transport, welcomed the deal as “a strong example of the opportunities that exist when Irish and Chinese businesses work together.”

🔥 蘇格蘭高地威士忌酒廠裁員風波 GMB工會控訴帝亞吉歐協商流程為「虛應故事」

Google News(Scotch/Distillery)|原題:Highland distillery jobs under threat as union accuses Diageo of 'sham' redundancy consultation - Ross-shire Journal

Highland, Islands, and Moray distillery jobs under threat as GMB Scotland accuses Diageo of 'sham' redundancy consultation Fears are growing for jobs at some the Highlands’ whisky distilleries after union leaders accused drinks giant Diageo of refusing to consider alternatives to compulsory redundancies. A total of 172 workers across Diageo's Highland and Islands distilleries have been placed at risk of redundancy, with the company warning that 38 jobs could ultimately be lost as part of a global cost-cutting programme. It is not known where the axe could fall, but Diageo owns numerous distilleries in the Highlands, including Clynelish in Brora - where the visitor centre closed its doors earlier this year - Glen Ord distillery in Muir of Ord, Teaninich in Alness, and Dalwhinnie. It also owns numerous Moray sites, including Cardhu and Cragganmore, among others. GMB Scotland has launched an attack on the company's handling of the consultation process, claiming executives have refused to discuss measures that could reduce the number of compulsory redundancies. The union says a four-week consultation ended last week without any agreement being reached and has described the process as little more than a "box-ticking exercise". Lesley-Anne Macaskill, GMB Scotland organiser for the Highlands and Islands, said workers' concerns had been ignored throughout discussions. "We have now had five meetings with the company to discuss its plans but there has been no serious attempt to engage with our members' concerns or modify its plans in any way," she said. "This has not been a genuine consultation but a box-ticking exercise by a company intent on steam-rollering through job losses to a plan that has already been decided. "The absolute refusal to engage with our members' concerns is a morally bankrupt betrayal of a skilled, experienced and committed workforce." The union says it repeatedly proposed alternatives including voluntary redundancy schemes and job-sharing arrangements, arguing these approaches are commonly used across the industry to minimise compulsory job losses. However, it claims every proposal was rejected. "Our members understand the company must respond to changing demand but that can be done with respect, fairness and genuine consultation," Ms Macaskill added. "Instead, it has refused to listen or alter its plans in any way." GMB has also criticised Diageo's decision not to provide details of potential redundancy payments before workers enter an individual assessment and scoring process. According to the union, employees at risk will now be graded before attending one-to-one meetings, with redundancy terms still unclear. Ms Macaskill said it had become apparent during negotiations that company representatives "had no authority" to amend the proposals, labelling the consultation a “sham”. "It became obvious the decisions have already been taken elsewhere, miles away from the rural communities where the impact of these redundancies will be felt," she said. The union has now formally rejected the consultation process and plans to write to politicians across the Highlands and Islands urging them to intervene, warning the losses could have consequences far beyond the distillery gates. The cuts form part of a worldwide restructuring programme being led by Diageo chief executive Sir Dave Lewis. Reports have suggested as many as a third of the company's global workforce of around 30,000 could ultimately be affected as the company seeks to reduce costs and respond to changing market conditions. Consultation is also continuing at Diageo's production, bottling and distribution sites elsewhere in Scotland. Diageo has previously said it needs to reshape parts of its business to reflect changing demand and improve efficiency, although GMB insists the company has failed to explore every possible option to protect jobs.

Glenfiddich and the Aston Martin Formula One Team have unveiled a limited-edition single malt, the Glenfiddich & Aston Martin Formula One Team 16-Year-Old Limited-Edition Release No.2. The whisky was launched in London on Monday 3 August, marking the second year of the two brands’ partnership. The release was inspired by Glenfiddich malt master Brian Kinsman and Aston Martin Formula One Team managing technical partner Adrian Newey. The bottling draws on a shared belief that performance is defined not only by what can be seen, but by “the invisible detail working beneath the surface.” The 16-year-old expression is built through a maturation across five cask types. It combines first-fill bourbon barrels, port pipes, oloroso sherry casks, wine casks and a final touch of fino sherry butts. Bottled at 43% ABV, the whisky pairs Glenfiddich’s fruit-led style with layered sweetness, richness and structure. “What I find most compelling about Adrian’s work is that the defining performance often comes from what you cannot immediately see,” said Kinsman. “Behind every Aston Martin Formula One Team car are hundreds of small decisions, carefully refined to create a seamless whole. The same is true in whisky making.” Adrian Newey joined Aston Martin in 2025 following a shock departure from Red Bull. Newey’s engineering helped steer Red Bull’s Max Verstappen to four consecutive Formula One World Drivers’ Championship titles. Now a shareholder at Aston Martin, Newey hopes to bring technical innovation to the team and allow them to compete at the top of the field. Continuing his comments on the new expression, Brian Kinsman added: “For this expression, I combined the influence of five distinct cask types, each contributing its own character, texture and depth. The result is a truly unique Glenfiddich expression, vibrant with fruit, layered with warmth, and brought into perfect balance.” Signup now to make sure you don't miss out on the latest whiskey news and deals. According to the official notes from the brand, the nose offers “rich stewed fruits with a beautiful array of floral top notes,” alongside “hints of marzipan and polished leather.” The palate is “mellow and silky smooth with a creamy, buttery toffee sweetness,” leading to a “long lasting oaky sweetness” on the finish. The two brands first announced their multi-year partnership in November 2024. Glenfiddich introduced single malt to the world beyond Scotland in 1961 and describes itself as the world’s most awarded single malt Scotch whisky. Glenfiddich & Aston Martin Formula One Team 16-Year-Old Limited-Edition Release No.2 is available from selected UK retailers, including Selfridges and Master of Malt, priced at RRP $79.99.

Copperworks Distilling Co. has released Single Cask No. 97-2, a seven-and-a-half-year-old whiskey now available at its Seattle distillery. The bottling was crafted using single varietal Baronesse pale malt barley from Joseph’s Grainery in Colfax, Washington. The Baronesse barley variety has an established record in the Copperworks portfolio. A previous Baronesse-distilled Farmsmith release earned gold at the 2025 American Craft Spirits Association Competition and then very quickly sold out. The new Single Cask No. 97-2 was finished in the only French oak cask at Copperworks, which the distillery said makes it “an exceptionally rare offering.” It is bottled at 62.5% ABV (125 proof). “This single cask will continue to mature after this distillery-exclusive experience, meaning guests are capturing a whiskey that won’t be found anywhere else and won’t taste quite the same ever again,” said Jason Parker, president and co-founder of Copperworks Distilling Co. Copperworks is currently featuring Single Cask No. 97-2 as its hand-fill offering. Visitors use the distillery’s copper dipping dog to pull whiskey straight from the cask before sealing their bottle and filling out the cask details. The release is available three ways. Guests visiting the Seattle distillery can pull their own whiskey using the copper dipping dog, then seal and label their bottle on-site. For those who prefer not to fill their own bottle, the Copperworks team will hand-fill on their behalf during any visit. Alternatively, Copperworks will hand-fill a bottle directly from the cask and ship it. Buyers can contact the team to arrange delivery. The hand-fill experience takes place at Copperworks’ Seattle distillery and tasting room, located at 1250 Alaskan Way. Copperworks was founded in 2013 by Jason Parker and Micah Nutt. The distillery is known for using brewing techniques and quality malted barley to produce its single malt whiskeys, and has built a reputation for experimenting with barley varieties and cask finishes across its single cask program.

Old Elk Distillery 推出期待已久的10年陳年系列威士忌

Google News(Whisky 綜合)|原題:Old Elk Distillery Releases Highly Anticipated 10-Year-Old Collection Inbox - Focus Daily News

If you’re a fan of whiskey with a little age on it, Old Elk has three new reasons to pour a glass. Middle West Spirits, one of North America’s largest independently owned distilleries, has launched the Old Elk Distillery 10-Year Old Collection, featuring a Straight Bourbon, Straight Wheat Whiskey, and Wheated Bourbon. All three have spent a full decade aging in barrels, and each brings something a little different to the table. The collection is the first major round of new releases for Old Elk since Middle West Spirits acquired Old Elk Distillery in May 2025. The move gives the company an expanded portfolio and greater scale, while the new whiskies show that it isn’t slowing down when it comes to innovation. “We’re excited to launch these whiskies with a very strong age statement. Through this 10-year collection, we can offer a line of whiskies with exceptional quality while maintaining accessibility, something truly rare in the industry,” says Luis Gonzalez, CCO of Middle West Spirits. Gonzalez says the releases are also a reflection of the work happening behind the scenes. “These new releases embody the dedication and craftsmanship of our team, proving that while our whiskies rest, our pursuit of excellence never does,” he says. “Our team is particularly looking forward to how our consumer base will react to them.” Here’s what’s in the new collection: 10-Year-Old Straight Bourbon This isn’t your typical bourbon mash bill. The 10-Year-Old Straight Bourbon leans heavily into malted barley, which gives the whiskey its smoothness and depth while adding another layer of character. The mash bill combines malted barley with rye for spice and corn for sweetness. After 10 years of aging, the combination comes together in a bourbon that’s robust without being hard-edged — smooth, balanced and easy to sip. Mashbill: 51% Corn, 34% Malted Barley, 15% Rye ABV: 52.5% 10-Year-Old Straight Wheat Whiskey Old Elk’s 10-Year-Old Straight Wheat Whiskey draws on decades of experience working with world-class rye and wheat distillates. Made with a 95 percent soft red winter wheat mashbill and aged in barrels for a full decade, the whiskey highlights just how much character time can bring to wheat. The aging process brings out the grain’s rich, refined qualities while adding depth, complexity and subtlety. Mashbill: 96% Wheat, 4% Malted Barley ABV: 51.5% 10-Year-Old Wheated Bourbon Wheated bourbon has become a familiar category for whiskey drinkers, but Old Elk takes a decidedly grain-forward approach with its 10-Year-Old Wheated Bourbon. With 45 percent wheat in the mash bill and 10 years of maturation, the bourbon reflects Old Elk’s long-term commitment to aging and its decades of experience working with wheat whiskey. The wheat helps highlight the natural sweetness of the corn, while the barrel contributes soft vanilla notes. The finished whiskey is smooth and elevated without losing its bourbon character. Mashbill: 51% Corn, 46% Wheat, 3% Malted Barley ABV: 52.5% Find the New Old Elk Releases All three whiskies — the Old Elk 10-Year-Old Straight Bourbon, 10-Year-Old Straight Wheat Whiskey and 10-Year-Old Wheated Bourbon — are available nationwide with an SRP of $69.99 each. They’re also available at the Middle West Spirits Distillery bottle store and online through the Old Elk bottle shop. Never Say Die在波本威士忌故鄉肯塔基打造英式酒吧品牌主題館

Google News(Whisky 綜合)|原題:Why Never Say Die Is Building an English Pub in the Heart of Bourbon Country - The Whiskey Wash

The day after I spoke to Brian Luftman, co-founder of Never Say Die, a British telephone box was due to be delivered to a building site on West Short Street in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. It will stand outside the first brand home for Never Say Die, the bourbon distilled in Kentucky, shipped across the Atlantic in barrels and matured at White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire. Luftman hopes the phone box might serve as a way into what he says will be “the coolest bar in Kentucky.” Expected to open in October or November of 2026, the brand home will also be the only place in the world where visitors can fill bottles of Double Ocean, a bourbon that has crossed the Atlantic twice in its original barrels. I asked Brian how you build a multinational brand home that feels like two countries at once. We spoke about its downtown location, what a second ocean crossing might do to a bourbon, and how the experience will bring both sides of the story together. The Story of Never Say Die The brand is named after a colt foaled on co-founder Pat Madden’s family farm outside Lexington, Kentucky, who survived a difficult birth, during which whiskey was allegedly poured down his throat to revive him. Never Say Die went on to win the 1954 Epsom Derby at odds of 33-1, with Queen Elizabeth II in attendance. One of the people who backed the horse was Mona Best, a Liverpool woman who pawned her jewelry to place the bet and used the winnings to help open the Casbah Coffee Club. The Beatles played some of their earliest gigs there, with her son Pete on drums. Signup now to make sure you don't miss out on the latest whiskey news and deals. The Whiskey Wash is protected by reCAPTCHA, and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply. That chain of events explains why Never Say Die combines Kentucky bourbon, horse racing, British pub culture and live music. Never Say Die was founded by Brian Luftman, Pat Madden, and British co-founders David Wild and Martha Dalton. The new brand home is intended to bring all four together, with good whiskey, good pints, and a good story. The New Never Say Die Brand Home Never Say Die has taken a two-floor building at 249 West Short Street. The site has its own distilled spirits plant license, making it one of the first micro-distilleries in downtown Lexington. The English-inspired pub on the ground floor will serve British food alongside American favorites, with British drinks behind the bar and a decent showing of Kentucky bourbon. Tasting flights will be poured at one end of the bar, with a gift shop in a back corner. The ticketed experience is upstairs and runs through four rooms: a library styled on 1950s Britain where the brand story is told, a tasting room, a barrel room modeled on a Kentucky rickhouse, and the still room. Tickets are expected to cost between $25 and $30. The location immediately struck me. A building in the middle of a city is not where most Kentucky brand homes end up, but the choice was based on more than just footfall. Why Never Say Die Chose Downtown, and Not the Bourbon Trail? Most Kentucky brand homes sit some way out of town, strung along the Bourbon Trail and reached by car. Never Say Die has taken a building in the middle of Lexington instead, and Luftman’s thinking starts with how difficult it is to persuade people to make the trip at all. “Marketing is tough, and getting people to drive to a destination is difficult,” he said. Lexington was the obvious city because the racehorse was born on Pat Madden’s family farm nearby. Luftman is equally interested in who is already there. “There’s a lot of tourism in Kentucky; it’s the horse racing capital of the world,” he said. “We have a lot of people that come to Lexington for horse racing, but they’re not necessarily looking for bourbon distilleries. So we figured they could stumble upon a really cool bar and say, what is this place?” Racing and bourbon are the two industries Kentucky is known for, yet remarkably few brands have done much with both at once. Blanton’s has a horse and jockey on the stopper, but there is little else joining the two in any meaningful way. “We have more ties to the horse industry than probably any other bourbon brand,” Luftman said. Getting Britain Into the Building I grew up in the English Midlands, close enough to White Peak that I could drive there in a little over an hour, so the English half of the building interested me more than the American one. I asked Luftman which parts of England were going in, and how he expected the place to feel once people were standing in it. “Well, it terrifies me,” he said. “We think we’re doing it right with bringing in some English pub characteristics. That being said, I’m sure we’ll miss the mark, because it’s a bunch of Americans trying to figure that out.” He has spent enough time in London to feel reasonably confident, and so has Pat Madden. The bar itself is being built from hickory. “There will be beer on tap for an English-style pint, and a British-style fish and chips on the menu, with also an American burger,” he said. Drink rails are going in outside for anyone who would rather stand with a glass in hand, and there will be a daily happy hour. There will also be a stage for live music. “Music is a really big backbone of our story, the musical history of the brand,” Luftman said. Televisions showing sport will be around the room as well. I told him the feeling of a British pub often matters more than the fittings. He agreed. “I think there’s going to be characteristics that make both sides of the pond pretty happy,” he said. A Bar First, and a Brand Home Second What sets the ground floor apart from most brand homes is that nobody is obliged to care about the brand. Luftman wants the room to work as a bar on its own terms, with the branding kept light and the sales pitch absent. “We’re really focusing on making the bar really hip and awesome,” he said. “When you’re walking in, it’s not like, ‘welcome to the Never Say Die distillery, and here’s your experience.’” The aim is for the discovery to feel organic, not overly corporate. Someone might notice the flights at the end of the bar, or the gift shop in the corner, and start asking questions. “If they just want to come go to the coolest bar in Kentucky, they come in to our place, and then they start to learn what it’s about,” Luftman said. That resonates with me. The first bourbon I tried was poured from a big bottle of Four Roses in a Manchester bar, and I remember it because I was out with friends. Whiskey memories attach themselves to places, and building a room people want to return to is a reasonable way to make some. Never Say Die Double Ocean The brand new Never Say Die Double Ocean Bourbon is the bottle meant to make the trip worth it. The labels had arrived the day before we spoke, and Luftman had taken sticker remover to an existing bottle to see how they looked on the glass. Stranger & Stranger, which handles the brand’s packaging, designed the considerably changed look with gold lettering and a blue label on the back. The whiskey will come from 30 hand-selected barrels currently sitting on pallets in Derbyshire, 25 of bourbon and five of rye, waiting on export paperwork before they are shipped back to Kentucky. Luftman knows how the exercise sounds. “What a ridiculous thing to send bourbon barrels back from England to Kentucky again, but we’re so convinced that the ocean trip makes a difference that it’s gotta make it better,” he said. Guests at the brand home will fill their own bottles from those barrels in the rickhouse room, and the whisk

The Denver-based Stranahan’s Distillery has announced the launch of the oldest Colorado Bottled-in-Bond whiskey ever released, commemorating both its home states 150th anniversary and America’s 250th anniversary. Stranahan’s Bottled-in-Bond (50% ABV) is a limited-edition 11 Year Old American single malt whiskey, produced using 100% malted barley from a single distilling season (January to June 2015) and matured in charred American white oak barrels. Crafted in the spirit of the 1897 Bottled-in-Bond Act, Stranahan’s American Single Malt Whiskey: Bottled-in-Bond adheres to one of whiskey’s most exacting standards. It was distilled during a single season, aged in a federally bonded warehouse, and bottled at exactly 100 proof (50% ABV). Stranahan’s Bottled-in-Bond is said to offer remarkable depth and character. On the nose, it opens with candied apples, baked orchard fruit, pipe tobacco and oiled leather, complemented by hints of clove and torched sugar. The palate delivers a velvety mouthfeel, with rich caramel, cracked pepper, dark chocolate, molasses and charred oak spice. The finish is long and silky, with lingering oak, cocoa nib and a refreshing hint of earthy spearmint. Commenting on the launch, Justin Aden, Stranahan’s Head Blender, said: “Bottled-in-Bond has always stood for transparency, integrity and craftsmanship. For us, it means showing exactly what authentic Colorado whiskey is at its best. This release is as honest and hands-on as it gets – one grain, one distilling season, distilled, aged and bottled entirely here in Denver. Our mile-high climate does something special to our whiskey over time, drawing out a refined character and depth you can’t replicate anywhere else. After 11 years of maturation, it’s a whiskey that’s unmistakably Stranahan’s, which means unmistakably Colorado, while honouring the traditions that set the standards for American whiskey.” Stranahan’s Bottled-in-Bond is now available from the distillery and selected retailers across the US, for a RRP of $159.99. That Boutique-y Whisky Company has released a 21 Year Old World Whisky Blend, the headline bottling in a new collection of seven limited editions called the Summertime Specials. The range is available now from Master of Malt, with just 475 bottles of the flagship blend priced at £74.95. The 21 Year Old builds on the brand’s original World Whisky Blend, one of its best-known bottlings. That blend combines whiskies from 14 countries and comes with seven recommended serves, from cola and ginger ale to green tea, coconut water, or neat. The new expression offers long-aged whisky from Scotland, Ireland, Canada, and Japan, finished in sherry casks. It is designed for shorter cocktails and slow sipping. The label was designed by long-time Boutique-y collaborator and Glasgow artist Emily Chappell. It turns the original’s floating globe into an ice ball melting into the whisky, a deliberate climate nod. The blend was created by Sam Simmons, head of whisky at Master of Malt. “The question behind World Whisky Blend has always been a simple one: with so many incredible whiskies being made around the world, what do they taste like together?” said Simmons. “The 21 Year Old is that question asked of much older stock — long-aged whisky from Scotland, Ireland, Canada and Japan, married in sherry casks. Twenty-one years is just the youngest whisky in there — the oldest is staying a secret.” Simmons added: “It leads a summer collection we’ve loved putting together: single malts from Bowmore, Inchgower and Clynelish, a 35-year-old Girvan single grain, and — because if you don’t ask, you don’t get — two of them at natural cask strength.” Signup now to make sure you don't miss out on the latest whiskey news and deals. The rest of the line-up spans Islay, Speyside, the Highlands, and one of Scotland’s largest grain distilleries. It includes a Bowmore 17 Year Old (£89.95, 343 bottles), an Inchgower 12 Year Old (£59.95, 336 bottles), a Clynelish 12 Year Old (£59.95, 350 bottles), and a Girvan 35 Year Old single grain (£89.95, 202 bottles). By popular demand, natural cask strength editions of the Inchgower (55.2% ABV) and Clynelish (54% ABV) are also available, each priced at £74.95. All bottlings are 45.8% ABV unless stated, non-chill-filtered, and naturally colored, in 70cl bottles. Boutique-y has also teamed up with Drinks by the Dram on a Master of Malt exclusive tasting set of all five core Summertime Specials in 30ml wax-sealed drams, priced at £32.95.

Which distillery makes the best wheated bourbon? From established names such as Maker’s Mark, Buffalo Trace, and Heaven Hill to newer producers including Green River and Bardstown Bourbon Co., there are plenty of contenders. This ranking considers flavor, quality, value, availability, and the variety of wheated whiskeys each producer offers. The order may not match everyone else’s, but this is ultimately a celebration of the distilleries doing the most exciting things with wheat. Wheated bourbon is a delight. It is an excellent choice if you want to move away from the sometimes dominant flavor of rye and towards something more relaxed, mellow, and approachable. Bourbon is naturally sweet, but wheat can soften its spicier elements and give it a particularly creamy character. 1. Maker’s Mark Distillery For me, these folks are the best. Maker’s Mark has produced wheated bourbon from the beginning and has helped define the style for more than seven decades. Whether you are buying classic Maker’s Mark, Maker’s 46, or Maker’s Mark Cask Strength, you are in for a wonderful time. These whiskeys deliver sweet, mellow flavors of cocoa, coffee, maple, pecan, and milk chocolate. That is before we even get into Star Hill Farm Whisky, the Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged collection, Wood Finishing Series, or the Private Selection barrels chosen by retailers and bars across the globe. These releases are driven by flavor while remaining accessible to drinkers. Signup now to make sure you don't miss out on the latest whiskey news and deals. The Whiskey Wash is protected by reCAPTCHA, and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply. No matter where you are in the world, there is a good chance you can find a specialist retailer or bar with an unusual bottle of Maker’s Mark on the shelf. The bottles look great, the core range is widely available and affordable, and the brand has consistently championed innovation within wheated whiskey. 2. Green River Distilling Co. Green River is relatively new to the modern wheated bourbon conversation, but it is already a great one. I discovered Green River through HopScotch Whisky Bar in Liverpool, an amazing bar in northwest England that delivers samples of bottles you either missed or want to try before buying. As soon as the Green River Wheated Bourbon sample hit my lips, I knew I needed a bottle. At around £45 and bottled at 45% ABV, it delivers an enormous amount of flavor for the money. It may be only one bottle within the wider Green River lineup, but when it comes to bang for your buck, it is difficult to beat. It is a no-frills, well-made bourbon that fully deserves the number two spot on this list. 3. Wilderness Trail Wilderness Trail has built its reputation on high-quality, well-made whiskey, initially winning over the geekier side of the bourbon community. Bourbon fans are excitable people. I am one of them. As soon as I saw these stout, chunky bottles getting people excited, I knew I had to pay attention. The Wilderness Trail Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon is a real delight and an excellent introduction to the brand. However, its small-batch Bottled-in-Bond releases are among the finest bottles you can get your hands on. They deliver concentrated flavors of butter, cherries, caramel, and vanilla. At 50% ABV, they hit a little harder, but that additional strength contrasts beautifully with the richness of the whiskey. 4. Ben Holladay Wheated Bourbon Produced in Missouri by McCormick Distilling Co., Ben Holladay Wheated Bourbon has captured the attention of a significant number of wheated bourbon drinkers in the UK. Made with 13% red winter wheat, it has one of the creamiest textures you will find in bourbon. This is something that should be on your hit list if you enjoy rich, sweet, and full-bodied American whiskey. The Bottled-in-Bond and Rickhouse Proof expressions both deliver that substantial texture, alongside flavors of baked vanilla, caramel, brown butter, and hazelnut. It is masterful bourbon production. 5. Buffalo Trace Distillery It would be extremely difficult not to mention Buffalo Trace in this conversation. The distillery produces Pappy Van Winkle, W.L. Weller, and its Kosher Wheat Recipe Bourbon. Buffalo Trace has earned enormous respect from whiskey drinkers and describes itself as the most awarded distillery in the world. Whether or not awards influence your buying decisions, there is no denying its importance within wheated bourbon. I love Weller, and I have been lucky enough to try the full core Pappy Van Winkle range. This position has been awarded partly out of respect for what Buffalo Trace produces. Realistically, however, it is going to be difficult for most drinkers to find a large proportion of these bottles. Unless you are willing to pay inflated retail or secondary-market prices, many of them will remain out of reach. 6. Bardstown Bourbon Co. Bardstown Bourbon Co. has become famous for its cross-category collaborations with producers such as Maison Ferrand, Amrut, and Goose Island. However, its core products also shine. The distillery uses a remarkable 39% wheat in its wheated bourbon mashbill, considerably more than most competitors. Aged for six years and bottled at 53% ABV, the bourbon is fruit-driven and exceptionally well-rounded. The nose is filled with lemon and fresh mandarin. The palate brings plenty of pastry and fresh butter before developing into a mouth-coating finish with pleasantly dry oak. 7. Heaven Hill Distillery I feel bad putting Heaven Hill this low. I love most of what the distillery makes, and Larceny is one of the best-value wheated bourbons you can get your hands on. That is before considering the excellent Larceny Barrel Proof releases. Heaven Hill has also released wheated whiskey through the Parker’s Heritage Collection on two occasions, as well as under the Old Fitzgerald name. Sadly, those bottles can be extremely difficult to find at a reasonable price. The Old Fitzgerald 7 Year Old is easier to locate than some releases, but the age-stated decanters are where much of the brand’s modern reputation has been built. At around $25 a bottle, standard Larceny is incredible value. I only wish Heaven Hill would do more with the style, perhaps through a permanent Bottled-in-Bond release or older stocks that demonstrate how well the whiskey can handle extended aging. 8. MGP Distillery Just because a distillery produces a wide variety of whiskey styles does not make its products bad. You could argue that producing custom mashbills for so many different brands makes the whiskey feel less special. However, if the quality is high, the rest does not really matter. MGP’s wheated bourbon mashbill, which contains 51% corn and 45% wheat, appears in several smaller brands. Notable examples include Redemption Wheated Bourbon, Fiddler Georgia Heartwood, and Oak & Eden Wheat & Spire. Some MGP wheated whiskey also makes its way into certain Penelope Bourbon releases. Each of these products has its own merits and style, demonstrating what can be achieved with MGP’s highly unusual wheat-forward recipe. Which Distillery Makes The Best Wheated Bourbon? Wheated bourbon is a style that is incredibly close to my heart, and I genuinely enjoy every producer mentioned on this list. The order may not be the same one everyone else would choose, but I hope the reasons behind each position are clear. Maker’s Mark takes the top spot because of its combination of quality, variety, availability, value, and long-standing commitment to wheated whiskey. Whatever bottle I reach for, wheated bourbon rarely disappoints

Here's what to know about the Kentucky bourbon scene this month: New Kentucky bourbon, whiskey releases to try this month Bardstown Bourbon Company releases Victoria Pineapple Barrel Finish Whiskey The Bardstown Bourbon Company has released its Victoria Pineapple Barrel Finish Whiskey. Victoria Pineapple Barrel Finish Whiskey takes its name from the Victoria Pineapple, a variety celebrated for its intense sweetness, fragrant aroma and historic connection to premium rum production in Barbados. It begins with a custom blend of 10-and 11-year-old bourbons and 11-year-old rye married and matured in Caribbean-sourced pineapple rum casks, according to a news release. The whiskey blend matures for 27 months, and fresh pineapple is added to the barrels, mirroring the process of the original rum’s creation to reveal the tropical notes already developing in the whiskey, the release states. “The goal was never to make whiskey taste like pineapple,” Dan Callaway, master blender at Lofted Spirits, said in the release. “The goal was to understand what made these barrels so special in the first place. We followed that trail all the way back to the creation process and found our way to a whiskey with a bold, tropical fruit, surrounded by rye and allspice.” The bottle features artwork by Louisville artist Margaret Archambault, who translated the whiskey’s flavor profile into an original work of art. The first release from Bardstown Bourbon’s Finishing Series is bottled at 106 proof, and available in limited quantities. Victoria Pineapple Barrel Finish Whiskey will be available exclusively in Kentucky for a suggested retail price of $139.99. Blade and Bow unveils 12-Year-Old Solera Reserve Blade and Bow Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has released a new limited annual expression, Blade and Bow 12-Year-Old Solera Reserve. Blade and Bow 12-Year-Old Solera Reserve starts with a 12‑Year‑Old Blade and Bow Kentucky Straight Bourbon that is guided through a multi‑vat Solera finishing and blending process uniting the age and character of Cognac, Bordeaux, Moscatel, and Port vats to create a depth and balance in the final whiskey, according to a news release. “From the start, I wanted to capture the fruit, tannin, and aromatic lift that can be achieved with cask-finished bourbon, without the common pitfalls of one-noteness or overly tannic, new-wood character,” Nicole Austin, director of American Whiskey Liquid Development and Capabilities at Diageo, said in a news release. “I achieved this while honoring Blade and Bow’s Solera heritage, using the technique to blend new and older whiskey across multiple carefully chosen, large-format vintage vats to create a delicate weave of vibrant fruit and honey, layered over notes of vanilla, spice, and leather." Bottled at 52% ABV with a suggested retail price of $64.99 per 750ml bottle. Available in select markets nationwide. To learn more about Blade and Bow 12-Year-Old Solera Reserve, follow @bladeandbowwhiskey on Instagram. Buffalo Trace Distillery release Third Edition of its Prohibition Collection Buffalo Trace Distillery has unveiled the third edition of its Prohibition Collection, an annual limited-edition set of five bottles commemorating the whiskeys legally produced and sold at the distillery during Prohibition. This year’s collection honors five historic brands bottled under President Albert B. Blanton’s leadership at George T. Stagg Distillery, as Buffalo Trace was known during the Prohibition era, including: Henry Watterson, Kentucky River, John G. Carlisle, Walter B. Duffy and Cove Spring. Old distillery records preserved within the distillery’s archives inspired these five whiskeys featured in this year’s Collection. Each expression draws influence from the original branding and packaging of these long-forgotten labels. - Henry Watterson: U.S. Congressman and a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, known for his anti-Prohibition views. Because of his public support for distilleries and their products, Watterson’s likeness was used for a whiskey brand that was distributed by several companies, including the George T. Stagg Distillery. Today’s iteration, bottled uncut and unfiltered at 140.6 proof, is a Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey bursting with rye spice, citrus peel and fresh green herbs. The palate is powerful and structured, revealing zesty citrus, cedarwood and herbaceous notes of thyme and mint, finishing long, dry and energetic. - Kentucky River: Pays tribute to the former Kentucky River Distillery, previously known as Carlisle Distillery and later rebranded under Albert Blanton’s leadership to honor the river’s vital role in transporting goods, people and materials. Under Blanton’s leadership, the distillery tripled in size during this period of remarkable growth. Today’s expression is a 100 proof blend of Kentucky Straight Whiskeys. On the nose this whiskey offers aromas of honeyed grain, vanilla and caramelized sugar. Rounded and balanced, the palate showcases baked apple and gentle oak, finishing smooth and polished with warm pastry notes. - John G. Carlisle: A prominent U.S. Congressman and one of the key architects behind the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, played a pivotal role in shaping the future of American whiskey. This 100 proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey presents classic bourbon structure, layering rye-driven spice over toasted nuts and caramelized grain. It features bright orchard fruit and subtle tropical notes balanced by vanilla, oak and warm baking spices. The finish is dry and with lingering spice, light nuttiness and a restrained sweetness. - Walter B. Duffy. Duffy became sole owner of the O.F.C. Distillery and helped usher in its next chapter following George T. Stagg’s death in 1893. Operating from New York, Duffy placed his trust in Albert B. Blanton to oversee the Distillery’s operations, ultimately appointing him president in 1921. That decision would prove historic, as Blanton’s leadership helped shape the Distillery’s legacy and secure its place in American whiskey history. A blend of 10- and 14-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbons bottled at 107 proof, today’s tribute opens with notes of graham cracker, toasted corn and oak, layered with dried fig, raisin and date. Rich sweetness, structured oak and subtle anise lead to a long, refined finish accented by dried fruit and gentle spice. - Cove Spring: Named for the spring that fueled the Distillery’s earliest growth. It honors a vital piece of Buffalo Trace history. In 1804, a stone dam and overflow tower transformed the spring into a reservoir, supplying water to Leestown and the growing operation that would become O.F.C. Distillery. This uncut Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, crafted from a wheated recipe and bottled at 120.2 proof, offers aromas of red cherry, toasted coconut and oak. The palate is rich and fruit-forward, layered with sweet corn and spice, before giving way to a long, balanced finish marked by red fruit, toasted oak and lingering warmth. “The Prohibition Collection gives us the opportunity to bring important chapters of our Distillery’s history back to life,” Buffalo Trace Distillery Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley sai

Google News(Whisky 綜合)|原題:Whisky Names Explained: Chichibu 7EVEN Gods of Fortune 10-Year-Old - Takarabune - Whisky Monkeys

Over the past four years here at Whiskymonkeys, seven deities from Chichibu’s 7EVEN Gods of Fortune Series have featured in in the 7EVEN Gods of Forutne series. This year, the Japanese whisky brand released Takarabune, the eighth and final bottle in the series. But how is that possible if there are only seven gods of fortune? We explain it all in this Whisky Names Explained on Takarabune. Beginning in 2022, the Japanese whisky brand Chichibu, in collaboration with Dutch artist Robin Velghe, a.k.a. Warbb, launched the 7EVEN Gods of Fortune series: seven exclusive bottles spotlighting the Japanese gods of fortune: Ebisu, Hotei, Bishamonten, Benzaiten, Fukurokuju, Daikokuten, and Jurojin. Each god has a distinct character and mythic qualities, just as every bottle of Chichibu has its own personality and flavor profile. The treasure ship Takarabune After releasing all seven gods of fortune, the new bottle could not depict another deity. This chapter turns to the legendary treasure ship known as Takarabune. The Takarabune is like a flying storehouse brimming with magical treasures. Aboard are the scrolls of wisdom, the Makimono, held by the gods Fukurokuju and Jurojin. The ship also carries the magical wooden mallet called the Kozuchi, wielded by the god Daikokuten. According to Japanese folklore, the seven gods of fortune board the Takarabune together. During the first three days of the New Year, the mythical treasure ship sails from the heavens to the human world to bring luck, wealth, and prosperity. At the start of the year, you clear the decks, leaving behind last year’s troubles, to begin a prosperous, happy new year. To invite good fortune for the year ahead, people, especially children, place a woodblock print of the Takarabune under their pillow. The grand finale With this final Chichibu release, Takarabune aged 10 years and limited to just 144 bottles worldwide instantly becomes the oldest and rarest edition in the series. The whisky matured for a decade in first-fill bourbon casks and was bottled at a formidable 64.7% ABV. Digital artist Warbb has designed the label for this series one last time, delivering a futuristic interpretation of the legendary Takarabune. Although the series finale was bottled back in March of this year, fans and collectors will have to be patient a little longer. Pre-orders have been open, but the bottles won’t be available until August. The wait will be worth it: with this final Chichibu 7EVEN Gods of Fortune release, the collection is complete. As the cherry on top, this rare bottling comes with a unique, custom-made metal Takarabune collector’s stopper. | Whisky Deals from Whisky Exchange | Week 32 | | Glen Moray Forbidden Fruit | 29,58 pounds | | Mortlach 2003 21 year old bourbon cask signatory | 158,33 pounds (save 55 pounds) | | Redbreast 18 year old | 112,50 pounds (save 40 pounds) | | Red Sport 1991 31 year old Marsala cask | 537,50 pounds (save 300 pounds) | | Suntory Tsukuriwake Cask Collection 2024 | 2395,83 pounds (save 800 pounds) | FAQ - Why does the 7EVEN Gods of Fortune series have 8 bottles? Koopers Whiskey Father's Office Cigar Blend Bourbon 威士忌評測

Google News(Whisky 綜合)|原題:Koopers Whiskey Father’s Office Cigar Blend Bourbon Review - Breaking Bourbon

Classification: Straight Bourbon Finished with Amburana and Mizunara Oak Staves Company: Koopers Family Whiskey Co. Distillery: Sourced from Ross & Squibb Distillery (MGP) Release Date: June 2026 Proof: 114 Age: 8 Years Mashbill: 75% Corn, 21% Rye, 4% Malted Barley Color: Bright Copper SRP: $84 / 750mL (2026) Gingerbread | Holiday spices | Cinnamon cake | Toasted oak | Spiced honey | Amburana dominates Rye spice | Honey | Cinnamon spice | White peppercorn | Oak | Faint honey | Spiced bundt cake Rye spice | Cinnamon cake | Noticeable oak | Holiday spices | Lingering warm spice Leaning heavily into its Amburana finishing staves, Koopers Whiskey Father’s Office Cigar Blend Bourbon is a cigar blend bourbon that is full of holiday spices, almost to a fault. While Kooper Family Whiskey Company is based in Ledbetter, Texas, like many of their other releases, its latest limited edition bourbon started its life outside the state. To create Father’s Office Cigar Bourbon, the company sourced bourbon from Ross & Squibb Distillery (MGP). Presumably first aged for 2 years in Indiana, the company aged it six additional years in Texas. Aiming to create a cigar-blend bourbon in honor of Father’s Day, the bourbon was then subjected to Brazilian Amburana oak staves for 7 weeks and Japanese Mizunara oak staves for 12 weeks. Using Amburana to finish a bourbon is always a tricky affair. Literally hours too long can produce an overabundance of holiday spice flavors that dominate and drown out all other flavors the whiskey might contain. In the case of Koopers Whiskey Father’s Office Cigar Blend Bourbon, there is no doubting the intense amburana influence. Full of gingerbread and holiday spice scents, the aroma instantly clues you in that amburana was involved in some form. The midpoint pulls in warm spice in various forms along with honey and oak. Ending on rye spice, cinnamon cake, and a noticeable amount of oak, the holiday spices reappear to drive home the Amburana’s heavy-handed influence. While you may think using staves versus barrel finishing would have a subtler impact, that is not the case here. The Amburana staves absolutely dominate the sip and drown out any hope of what the much more delicate Mizunara staves might have imparted to it. Clearly, Koopers Whiskey’s take on a cigar blend leans heavily into the holiday spices. The end result is a nice Amburana-forward, finished whiskey that will appeal to those who appreciate a super-strong Amburana flavor profile. However, if you’re looking for a more balanced whiskey that utilizes both of its finishing staves, Father’s Office Cigar Blend Bourbon will leave you wanting more.

Moët Hennessy has sold its share in SirDavis to Knowles-Carter, two years after co-launching the whisky brand, according to a report from Drinks Intel.  SirDavis issued a short statement.  “SirDavis starts its new independent chapter, after a nearly four-year transformative collaboration through creation, development and launch. Knowles-Carter… takes full ownership and control, making SirDavis a woman, family and Black-owned company. Last year, Glenfiddich and Aston Martin Formula One Team dropped their first whisky collaboration, a 16-year-old single malt that was aged in three different types of wood: American oak wine casks, new American oak barrels, and second-fill bourbon barrels. This month marks the second release of this partnership, and this new whisky, also aged for 16 years, ups the maturation program to a total of five different cask types. Glenfiddich, one of the most popular and best-selling single malts in the world, has been making whisky for more than 150 years. The distillery is located in the Speyside region of Scotland in Dufftown, just down the road from its sister operation the Balvenie (both are owned by William Grant & Sons). The Aston Martin F1 team is not quite as old, with the current iteration only existing since Racing Point was purchased by Lawrence Stroll—father of the team’s driver Lance Stroll—and rebranded as Aston Martin. The team and distiller announced their partnership in 2024, originally releasing a 1959 vintage single malt aged for 65 years, which was available exclusively at Harrods’ Fine Wines & Spirits Room in London. As mentioned before, this new single malt was matured for 16 years, the same amount of time as the first release. But the maturation process makes this new expression stand out. Specifically, the whisky was aged in a combination of first-fill bourbon barrels, port pipes, Oloroso sherry casks, wine casks, and a small amount of Fino sherry butts. It was bottled at 86 proof, and the official tasting notes describe a “mellow and silky smooth” palate with notes of “creamy, buttery toffee sweetness, caramelized cane sugar, and a counterbalance of dry oak tannin” (we did not receive a sample to try). According to the brand, the new whisky was inspired by the dual philosophies of Glenfiddich master of malt Brian Kinsman and Aston Martin’s managing technical partner Adrian Newey. “What I find most compelling about Adrian’s work is that the defining performance often comes from what you cannot immediately see,” said Kinsman in a statement. “Behind every Aston Martin Formula One Team car are hundreds of small decisions, carefully refined to create a seamless whole. The same is true in whisky making. For this expression, I combined the influence of five distinct cask types, each contributing its own character, texture and depth. The art lies not in the individual components, but in bringing them together in a way that feels perfectly balanced and instinctively right.” Glenfiddich & Aston Martin Formula One Team 16-Year-Old Limited-Edition Release No. 2 is now available at select retailers around the country (SRP $80), and you can still find the first edition at websites like ReserveBar.

印度禁售多款威士忌與蘭姆酒,因使用人工香料不符規範

Google News(Scotch/Distillery)|原題:'Sub-standard': India bars sale of popular whisky and rum brands over flavouring | India News - hindustantimes.com

受影響品牌包括 Antiquity Blue Whisky、Royal Challenge Whisky、Bagpiper Deluxe Whisky、Old Cask Deluxe XXX Rum 與 Old Monk 等知名商品。監管單位表示,「國際上不存在在蘭姆酒中添加蘭姆香料或威士忌中添加威士忌香料的製造慣例」,此舉可能規避適當的熟陳程序。業界擔憂這項決定,但規定的具體適用範圍仍不明確。

'Sub-standard': India bars sale of popular whisky and rum brands over flavouring The action affects brands made by United Spirits, Inbrew Beverages and Mohan Rocky Springwater after the regulator found the use of artificial flavouring. India's food safety regulator has prohibited the sale of several Indian whisky and rum brands after inspections found the use of flavouring practices that it says do not meet accepted standards. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) said the affected products were manufactured by Diageo India's United Spirits, Inbrew Beverages and Mohan Rocky Springwater and found using artificial flavouring to achieve taste and aroma, news agency Reuters reported . The action affects a segment of India's liquor market that serve largely to consumers buying domestically produced spirits, which are generally less expensive than imported whisky, rum and Scotch. India remains one of the world's biggest alcohol markets, with annual revenues estimated at about $40 billion. Diageo remains in the market as the biggest alcohol company by market shares. Also read: FSSAI suspends nutraceutical maker’s licence Regulator questions flavouring process According to the FSSAI, alcoholic beverages can contain natural flavouring substances under existing regulations. However, tests carried out at Diageo and Inbrew factories found that flavouring corresponding to the same category of liquor had been added during production. "There is no internationally recognized manufacturing practice whereby rum flavour is added to rum or whisky flavour is added to whisky," the FSSAI said in a statement on Sunday, according to Reuters. The regulator said such practices could eliminate the need for proper maturation or reduce dependence on ingredients traditionally associated with making spirits, including molasses, malt and grapes. Also read: Notices to food brands over consumer complaints Well-known brands come under ban The order covers United Spirits' Antiquity Blue Whisky and Royal Challenge Whisky, both manufactured in Madhya Pradesh. Products from Inbrew Beverages, including Bagpiper Deluxe Whisky and Old Cask Deluxe XXX Rum, produced in the same state, have also been barred from sale. Three variants of Old Monk, manufactured by Mohan Rocky Springwater in Maharashtra, have also been included in the regulator's action. Old Monk is one of India's oldest and most recognisable rum brands. The FSSAI said laboratory examinations found the affected products to be "sub-standard due to the presence of external artificial or nature identical flavours in the product," as cited by Reuters. Also read: No junk food sale allowed in school canteens, shops nearby: Big FDA action in Maharashtra Industry awaits clarity Two senior industry executives, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue, told that they were concerned about the regulator's decision. They also said that the use of flavouring was consistent with Indian regulations. It remains unclear whether the restriction applies only to products manufactured at the specific plants inspected by the regulator or extends to the same brands produced elsewhere. The FSSAI did not respond to the queries seeking clarification on the scope of the order, Reuters reported. Also read: What's in a name: Why FSSAI has called out Red Bull, Sting makers for ‘energy drink’ branding Part of wider regulatory action The latest move comes as the FSSAI steps up oversight of the food and beverage sector. Last week, the regulator directed companies selling high-caffeine beverages as "energy drinks" to stop using that description. The order came despite attempts by companies including Pepsi and Red Bull to delay the regulatory action.

Johnnie Walker Blue Label has appointed acclaimed actor Callum Turner as its global ambassador. The year-long partnership, announced in London on 30 July 2026, aims to attract new audiences to the luxury Scotch whisky while strengthening its presence in global pop culture. The collaboration will celebrate what the brand calls “progress, craftsmanship and the moments that matter.” Turner will feature in a series of videos and portraits that place Johnnie Walker Blue Label at the center of celebrations, both large and small. The actor is best known for his screen work and his profile in the fashion world. He currently appears in the independent features “Rose Bush Pruning” and “Rose of Nevada,” and will star in the upcoming romantic comedy “One Night Only.” Next year, Turner will take the male lead in the Apple TV+ adaptation of “Neuromancer.” As part of the partnership, Turner will travel to Scotland to learn about the whisky’s production. The trip will explore the lengths the master blender goes to in sourcing whiskies with sufficient depth and character. “The ethos of Johnnie Walker Blue Label is one that I’ve always admired,” said Turner. “With only one in ten thousand casks ever making it in, that level of care is what sets it apart.” He added: “Blue Label is the first bottle I reach for when celebrating with my mates, and now to officially be in partnership is a real honour.” Neil Shah, global brand director for Johnnie Walker, said the brand had “championed progress in all its forms” for more than 200 years. “Callum embodies that same spirit: quietly persistent, endlessly dedicated to his craft, forging his own path while staying true to his roots,” Shah said. “We’re proud to welcome him to the Johnnie Walker Blue Label family as he enters the next chapter of his journey.” Only one in 10,000 casks from Johnnie Walker’s reserves is selected for Blue Label. Some of these come from long-closed “ghost” distilleries. Johnnie Walker is owned by Diageo, the world’s largest spirits producer. The brand traces its origins to 1820, when John Walker began selling whisky from his grocery store in Kilmarnock, Scotland.

Woven Whisky 與 Civerinos 推出辣蜂蜜風味威士忌——Hot Honey

Google News(Scotch/Distillery)|原題:Woven Whisky & Civerinos Launch Hot Honey Spirit Drink - The Whiskey Wash

Leith-based Woven Whisky has partnered with pizza restaurant Civerinos to launch Hot Honey, a whisky blended around the flavor profile of chili-infused honey. The bottling will be available from 29 July 2026, priced at £40 per 700ml bottle. In line with Scotch Whisky Association regulations, which prohibit additives other than spirit caramel, it is labelled as a ‘spirit drink’ rather than a whisky. The collaboration unites two Edinburgh brands with a shared interest in flavor. Woven Whisky and Civerinos previously worked together on a chili-laced honey drizzle, infused with Woven Homemade whisky, which was used as a limited-edition pizza topping. For Hot Honey, the brands reversed the concept. Woven has blended a whisky designed around the taste of hot honey. The liquid combines North British Grain whisky with blossom honey, natural guajillo spice, and green jalapeño chilis. It is bottled at 43.1% ABV. Pete Allison, co-founder and whisky maker at Woven Whisky, described how the idea began. “The best collaborations start organically. I was happily munching some Civerinos pizza in Brown’s of Leith when the chef asked if I wanted to try some hot honey pizza drizzle they’d infused with our whisky,” he said. “As soon as I tasted it my mind started plotting what it could become if we flipped it into a hot honey infused whisky.” Allison said the reversal of the brief was central to the project. “We asked Civerinos if they’d help us build a whisky around the hot honey flavour profile and after some tastebud-shedding creative sessions, we had tasted enough to understand that the concept had legs,” he added. Michele Civiera, founder of Civerinos, said the partnership “felt natural because we share the same space in Brown’s of Leith.” Signup now to make sure you don't miss out on the latest whiskey news and deals. It’s a proper collaboration where both sides brought something the other couldn’t do alone,” Civiera said. According to the official notes from the brand, the whisky offers a rich texture with blossom honey sweetness up front, before rounded spice builds through guajillo warmth and green jalapeño heat, ending on a long, warming finish. The bottling follows Woven’s coffee-flavored whisky, WXC, which won World’s Best Flavoured Whisky at the World Whisky Awards in March. Hot Honey will be available from wovenwhisky.com, Brown’s of Leith, and all Civerinos locations.

蘇格蘭新創用威士忌廢液培養微藻 以Omega-3藻類替代野生魚油

Google News(Scotch/Distillery)|原題:This Scottish startup saves wild fish by replacing them with Omega-3 algae fed on whisky waste - AOL.co.uk

This Scottish startup saves wild fish by replacing them with Omega-3 algae fed on whisky waste Aquaculture is now the world's largest source of fish for human consumption, outpacing wild catch globally. But the industry has a hidden problem: farmed fish, especially salmon, are carnivores that need omega-3 fatty acids – and almost all of that omega-3 comes from fish oil, which itself is extracted from wild-caught fish. "The sustainable limits of what you can catch out of the ocean at the moment have been reached," Douglas Martin, founder and CEO of MiAlgae, tells Euronews Earth. "You can't physically catch any more out of the seas." The result is a cycle that undermines the environmental credentials of farmed fish: the more aquaculture grows, the more pressure it places on already-strained wild fish populations. Going back to the source of omega-3 Martin's answer is to go further down the food chain – all the way to microalgae. Oily fish do not actually produce omega-3 themselves; they accumulate it from the algae they eat. MiAlgae cuts out the middle step entirely. "The algae are the ones that actually produce the omega-3s," Martin tells Euronews Earth. "If you can produce the algae and you can grow that algae, you can get the omega-3s without actually having to go through the whole food chain." Related The challenge that has frustrated researchers for years has been cost. Growing algae on high-grade feedstocks makes the economics unworkable when competing against cheap wild fish oil. MiAlgae's solution is to use low-value industrial byproducts as the algae's food source – specifically, the liquid waste from Scotch whisky distilleries. Whisky production generates an eight per cent alcohol beer, from which distillers extract the alcohol. The remaining 92 per cent – produced in billions of litres every year across Scotland – is largely low-value waste. MiAlgae feeds that liquid to algae cells in large stainless steel tanks, harvesting the resulting biomass as a direct replacement for fish meal and fish oil. "It's a bit like brewing," Martin explains. "You take a very small number of algae cells and you take all the whisky byproducts and some other bits and you put them into these big stainless steel tanks and you let the algae feed on all of that nutritious goodness." Scaling up production of dried algae MiAlgae's current product is dried algae, bagged and shipped to aquafeed and pet food manufacturers as a drop-in substitute for wild fish ingredients. The pet food sector is the company's primary market for now, with aquafeed customers also in the pipeline. The company is currently building out its first full commercial production site, which Martin says will produce thousands of tonnes of product per year – significant, but still a fraction of global demand. "In the omega-3 world that's a good start, but a drop in the bucket," he tells Euronews Earth. "So we've got lots more fish to save still." Related On price competitiveness, Martin acknowledges the challenge of matching fish oil at current scale, but frames the comparison in terms of value per unit of omega-3 delivered. "We're looking to be cost parity with any fish oil that's coming out of the world," he says. MiAlgae reached the finals of the Earthshot Prize in 2024 – a platform Martin credits with boosting the company's credibility. "Having the Earthshot Prize behind us has been a huge win for us," he says. With commercial scale production on the horizon and industry interest growing, MiAlgae is positioning itself as a systemic alternative to one of aquaculture's most entrenched – and least visible – sustainability problems.

蘇格蘭威士忌廢液救野生魚?新創公司用威廠廢料培養微藻

Google News(Scotch/Distillery)|原題:Wild fish are at their limits. Can Scottish whisky waste save them? - Euronews.com

Fast cars and slowly aged spirits have collaborated more times than we can count, creating a liquor store's worth of whiskeys, tequilas, vodkas and gins sought after by Formula One completionists. The latest release in the unlikely subgenre hopes to elevate the concept by paying homage to the "unseen element" at play in both racecars and single malt scotch. On Monday, Aston Martin marked the second year of its Glenfiddich partnership with a limited-edition whisky aged in not one but five different barrel types. The 16-year-old single malt uses a mix of first-fill bourbon casks, Port pipes, Oloroso sherry casks, wine casks and a "final touch" of Fino sherry butts before being bottled at 43% ABV. The release was inspired by Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsman and Aston Martin Team Managing Technical Partner Adrian Newey. According to the brand, each shares the belief that performance is defined not only by what can be seen, but by the myriad invisible details working underneath the surface. "Behind every Aston Martin Formula One Team car are hundreds of small decisions, carefully refined to create a seamless whole. The same is true in whisky making," Kinsman said in a news release. "For this expression, I combined the influence of five distinct cask types, each contributing its own character, texture and depth. The art lies not in the individual components, but in bringing them together in a way that feels perfectly balanced and instinctively right." The release is said to boast aromas of rich stewed fruits, marzipan, flowers and polished leather, followed by flavors of toffee sweetness, caramelized cane sugar and dry oak tannins and a lengthy finish. It's now rolling out nationwide at a suggested retail price of $79.99. In November 2024, Aston Martin Formula One and Glenfiddich inked a multi-year partnership that has produced a handful of whiskies — some of which have proved easier to obtain than others. Last September, the brands joined forces for a 19-year-old, travel retail-exclusive scotch that hit airports at a suggested retail price of $175. Before that, Glenfiddich dropped a 65-year-old scotch distilled in the same year that Aston Martin made its Formula One debut. The liquid was never officially released to the public, though equivalent age statements from the distiller are known to hit the hammer anywhere between $6,000 and $50,000 at auction. August 2026’s whisky industry headlines bring together rare releases, intriguing collaborations, shifting market conditions, and a fresh reminder that the category continues to move with both confidence and character. August’s whisky news feels especially rich in contrast, bringing together objects of rarity, gestures of hospitality, and the practical realities of a category still negotiating growth, scarcity and global demand. There are bottlings that will vanish almost as soon as they appear, others designed to be shared more widely, and one or two developments that hint at larger shifts beneath the surface, from cask-buying sentiment to the easing of US trade friction. It is this balance between craftsmanship and commerce, between the intimate and the international, that gives the whisky world its particular fascination. In that sense, this month’s stories do not merely report on what has launched, but on how the category continues to define itself in real time. ABERFELDY 24-Year-Old White Port Double Cask Finish The award-winning Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery in Perthshire has announced the arrival of its latest distillery exclusive called the ABERFELDY 24-Year-Old White Port Double Cask Finish Single Malt Whisky. The limited edition has been matured in carefully selected White Port casks from the Douro Valley, delivering an elegant expression complete with notes of ripe orchard fruits, honeyed apricots, citrus blossom and vanilla. Only 252 bottles of ABERFELDY 24-Year-Old White Port Double Cask have been made available for sale, priced at £350, making it a highly sought-after release. Decant Index signals opportunities for cask buyers Recent production cuts at several Scotch distilleries could present an opportunity for whisky cask buyers willing to take a long-term view, according to alternative investment platform Decant Index. While weaker market sentiment may concern some investors, Decant Index deems that periods of increased stock availability have historically delivered favourable conditions for selective purchasers. The platform equally explains that production cuts are also significant, due to Scotch whisky being unable to quickly replenish lost supply. House of Hazelwood Calm Waters 1992 Blended Malt Scotch Whisky House of Hazelwood has announced an expanded Legacy Collection – a portfolio which celebrates rare and remarkable spirits from the Gordon family’s extensive inventory. Named ‘Calm Waters’, and featuring an ABV of 52.8%, it pays tribute to the River Spey, and is a whisky that was distilled in 1992, before being laid down for over 30 years in a combination of first-fill and refill Sherry butts. Whisky connoisseurs will be treated to a plethora of notes on the nose, including treacle toffee, liquorice, fennel, and linseed. On the palate, there are sweet and dark notes, prior to an exceptionally long and lingering finish. Only 297 bottles are available worldwide, priced at £950, making this a highly exclusive expression. Isle of Harris Whisky The Isle of Harris Distillery in the Outer Hebrides has unveiled Isle of Harris Whisky – a new signature single malt that will form part of its core range going forward. Launched as the distillery’s first fill spirit turns 10 years old, and the third release for the brand since 2015, the three distillers wanted to enhance the Sherry element for this latest expression, and turned to a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso Sherry casks for a smooth and complex profile. The result is a delicious array of notes comprising butterscotch, floral sweetness and gentle spice. The new single malt follows in the footsteps of The Hearach, which has become a collectable and a dram for special occasions thanks to its more limited quantity. However, with Isle of Harris Whisky offering 60,000 bottles in the initial release, and priced at an accessible £50 (or $54.99 in the US – another key market alongside France and Germany), it has been pitched as a whisky that is made to be enjoyed, and to be shared with others, whether neat or as part of a cocktail, such as an Old Fashioned or a refreshing grapefruit soda-based beverage. In fact, the Isle of Harris Whisky expression, which is peatier than its predecessors, namely The Oloroso and The Hearach, is not seen as a change of direction according to the Isle of Harris Distillery, but is more an evolution of its portfolio as the business continues to grow. Kavalan claims second consecutive title Taiwan’s Kavalan Distillery has won ‘Whisky of the Year’ titles at the prestigious International Whisky Competition (IWC) two years running, thanks to its Peatist Oloroso Sherry Cask Single Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky claiming the top step of the podium with 96.97 points. In 2025, Kavalan Solist Fino Sherry also received the same top global accolade. Crafted from lightly peated malt and matured in Oloroso Sherry casks, Kavalan Peatist Oloroso Sherry Cask is part of Kavalan’s Peatist Series, and opens with a note of oily leather, an earthy tea blend and a hint of anise, followed by grilled mango, light ash and a touch of white pepper. On the palate, chocolate-covered raisins, chewy figs and a delicate smoky barbecue tang come to the fore, ahead of a finish which lingers with dark leather, juicy cassis and lightly roasted cocoa nibs. The Balvenie Third Edition for The Fifty Collection The Balvenie distillery from Speyside has announced the Third Edition to round off its rarest offering to date – The Fifty Collection, which brings the strands of tradition, expertise, and the enduring spirit of The Balvenie together in a single highly exclusive portfolio. The Third Edition is a marriage of three 50-year-old casks selected by Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie to house the precious liquid. Building on the first two releases, a European oak refill butt and an American oak hogshead, both filled in 1973, the Third Edition adds a final American oak barrel filled in 1974, completing the trilogy. Bottled at an ABV of 50.3%, The Fifty Collection is presented in packaging comprised of over 100 different elements, including seven layers of wood in an intertwining helix structure, each less than one-tenth of a millimetre thick, and a crafted 14 carat gold-plated brass display. Just 45 examples have been released, priced at £42,500 (about $56,560) each. The Lakes Distillery Chocolatier in the UK After originally being unveiled with The Whisky Club in Australia, the Lake District whisky distillery has brought its award-winning limited Chocolatier (51% ABV) to the UK. Costing £95 per bottle, this single malt offers a rich experience that marries the craftsmanship of whisky with the precision of fine chocolate. Whisky lovers will enjoy notes of wood spices combined with the sweetness of soft fruits and spiced hot chocolate on the palate, before a finish which boasts dark chocolate and spice long after the final sip. US tariffs return to 0% for Scotch whisky The return of tariff-free trade for Scotch Whisky being sold in the USA is news welcomed by the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) for businesses on both sides of the Atlantic. With the States being Scotch Whisky’s most valuable global market – worth £933 million in 2025, the removal of tariffs by President Donald Trump, which was on the agenda during the King’s recent visit, provides greater confidence to invest, grow exports, and support jobs and communities. Caviar House & Prunier x Highland Park tasting menu Running for the month of August only, and encompassing National Oyster Day on the 4th, Caviar House & Prunier has partnered with Highland Park for a tasting menu at the brand’s flagship store on London’s Piccadilly, which pairs the world’s finest caviar and oysters with the 12 Year Old single malt whisky hailing from Orkney. Other delicacies on offer include Sicilian lemon sorbet and caviar (£21), which are also paired with Highland Park 12, whilst for serious whisky fans, there is a flight of three Highland Park expressions, span

The latest news, trends, analysis, interviews and podcasts from the global food and beverage industry Scottish whisky brand Wee Smoky has expanded into the ready-to-drink (RTD) category with the launch of six premium canned cocktails designed to introduce smoky Scotch to a wider audience. The Edinburgh-based brand has launched the range in 100ml cans, positioning the products as bar-quality cocktails for occasions spanning hospitality, travel retail, airlines, hotel minibars, gifting and premium convenience. The range comprises four cocktails traditionally associated with non-whisky serves – Margarita, Salted Caramel, Espresso Martini and Grape-fruit-arita – alongside two whisky classics, Old Fashioned and Manhattan. Wee Smoky said the four non-whisky serves were developed to appeal particularly to consumers who do not typically drink whisky, while the Old Fashioned and Manhattan are targeted towards existing whisky drinkers. All six cocktails feature Wee Smoky's signature smoky Scotch whisky profile, with the brand aiming to demonstrate that smoke can be used to enhance rather than overpower a cocktail. The Margarita combines lime, cactus notes and a smoky finish, while the Salted Caramel pairs caramel and salt with light smoke. The Espresso Martini combines coffee and chocolate notes with smoky depth, and the Grape-fruit-arita offers a smoky take on a Paloma, combining pink grapefruit, lime and citrus. The Old Fashioned includes smoke and orange zest, while the Manhattan is positioned as a spirit-forward serve. The range was developed with liquid development partner Jack Sotti, a former World Class Bartender of the Year, following years of experimentation by Wee Smoky founder Rory Gammell. Gammell said: “Smoke has traditionally been seen as intense. Whisky has traditionally been seen as intimidating. We believe both deserve a wider audience." Wee Smoky estimates that a global smoky RTD segment could eventually be worth more than $1 billion, based on the size of the global peated whisky market and projected growth in the RTD cocktails category. The company said spirit-based RTDs are currently expanding by between 10% and 14% annually, with consumers increasingly seeking new flavour combinations and convenient premium serves. The products are available to UK consumers through Wee Smoky’s website, with the first cans due to be dispatched from 3 August 2026. The brand has also secured distribution through specialist spirits wholesaler Select Drams, with discussions underway with potential partners in North America and Australia. The brand was founded in 2020 as a single-grain Scotch whisky specifically designed for mixing. Its original whisky has since expanded into markets including Australia, France, China, the US, Hong Kong and South Korea. The six products are available at 17%-32.1% ABV, depending on the serve, with the Margarita, Salted Caramel and Espresso Martini at 22% ABV, Grape-fruit-arita at 17%, Old Fashioned at 32.1% and Manhattan at 31.2%.

蘇格蘭威士忌最大市場不在蘇格蘭——而是在印度

Google News(Scotch/Distillery)|原題:Scotch's Biggest Market Isn't Scotland — It's Much Farther East - Chowhound

Scotch's Biggest Market Isn't Scotland — It's Much Farther East If you were asked to guess where most of the world's Scotch whisky is consumed, you'd probably assume Scotland itself, or maybe somewhere close like England — and you'd be way off. By volume of Scotch purchased, the top country in the world is India. According to the Scotch Whisky Association, in 2025, 220 million bottles of it were exported to India, and it's a growing market, with that being a 15% increase from the previous year. India has held this spot since 2022, when its import of Scotch jumped by a whopping 60% from the year before, surpassing France, the previous biggest importer (via Scotch Whisky Association). So why is India bringing in so much Scotch? Some of it is just math: With over 1.4 billion people as of 2025 (per United Nations Population Fund), it's the most populous country in the world. So inevitably, there's a huge number of (potential) whisky drinkers there. However, China, with a population almost the same as India, only imported 34 million bottles in 2025. So, a big population isn't the whole story. There are also historical and cultural reasons why India loves Scotch: It has historic ties to the home of Scotch as a former British colony. In the mid-1800s, British colonizers even tried to start up a local industry, building a distillery in the Himalayas to supply their troops with the spirit (although technically, you can only legally define whisky as Scotch if it's from Scotland). It didn't initially catch on, until the Raj (the British administration over India) put an official commission together to study it, concluding that the locally-made Scotch was high quality and harmless, allowing Scotch to start to be consumed more broadly. The popularization of Scotch in this country Initially, Scotch was a drink mostly reserved for British officials and Indian elites, and this gave it an air of exclusivity (although with alcohol often seen as something pushed by British colonizers, it was also perceived as an undesirable symbol of foreign domination over India). That perception of Scotch as an upper-class drink stuck around as Scotch became more accessible to the broader population and the Indian middle class grew. So, its prestigious connotations and relative accessibility likely combined to make a seriously big market for Scotch. Scotch drinking (and whisky drinking in general) is a bit different in India than how it is enjoyed in Scotland: While in Scotland, you might see it as something to sip neat after a meal, it's more of a beverage for social settings in India. Whisky is also served differently: It's measured in pegs (a colonial-era hangover for measuring liquor) of about 60 milliliters (about two ounces) and often served cold and paired with a good soda or water. Bear in mind that even with so many bottles imported, India's huge population means that the average Indian isn't drinking that much Scotch per year. In fact, in 2022, the per-capita consumption was about 0.04 bottles of it per person (via Quartz). The biggest Scotch-drinking market was Singapore, where (per capita) 12.76 bottles of scotch were consumed per person — although that may be a bit of a mirage, as the country re-exports some of that Scotch. That said, the country's wealthy population and duty-free imports mean it's nonetheless pretty popular there.

K. Michelle 推出鄉村音樂專輯《Jesus and Whiskey》

Google News(Whisky 綜合)|原題:K. Michelle Announces Country Album ‘Jesus and Whiskey’ - VIBE.com

K. Michelle is returning to her musical roots after decades in the R&B space. Over the years, Michelle has dabbled out of the genre, releasing tracks like “Tennessee” and “Jack Daniel’s.” Now, the Real Housewives of Atlanta newbie is fully focusing on where it all started: country music. During an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, the singer announced that her first-ever country album, Jesus and Whiskey, will be released on October 16 via Real Outlawz Records. It will feature nine tracks. Michelle also delivered a live performance of the title track, “Jesus and Whiskey,” on the show. The single is described as “a passionate declaration of living on her own terms — all while pushing her sound even deeper into uncharted terrain.” In 2024, Michelle shared that she had signed a new deal with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville, giving the company exclusive licensing to release her latest project. Over the years, the Memphis native has faced a few bumps on the road back to her first love. She has called out reporters for claiming she “didn’t grow up in country music” and has also spoken about the racial challenges she faced while breaking into the genre. “I was told I could not sing country music because I was Black, but it was something I had always been doing and will continue to do,” she previously shared. In recent years, Black artists like Shaboozey and Beyoncé have helped reclaim space for Black voices in country music. Now, with this latest announcement, it’s safe to say K. Michelle is ready to bring the genre back to its roots in her own way. See the album’s tracklist below. Jesus & Whiskey Track List “Intro” (K. Michelle) “Yodel” (K. Michelle, Tomy Gé, Kelly Sheehan, David “Messy” Mescon, Thomas Edwards)  “Blame Tennessee” (K. Michelle, Tomy Gé, Kelly Sheehan, David “Messy” Mescon, Thomas Edwards)  “Jack Daniel’s’” (K. Michelle, Ernest Keith Smith, Jordan Dozzi, Rocky Block) “If It Ain’t Broke” (K. Whiskey Creek Bridge 橋樑重建計畫:加州運輸部將翻新60年老橋

Google News(Whisky 綜合)|原題:Bridging the past and future: Whiskey Creek Bridge project - California Department of Transportation | Caltrans (.gov)

By Haleigh Pike District 2 public information officer For more than six decades, the Whiskey Creek Bridge corridor has played a vital role in connecting communities along State Route 299 in Shasta County. The story of this stretch of highway dates back to 1960, when the relocation of five miles of State Route 299 became necessary due to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation’s planned construction of Whiskeytown Dam. The project stretched from approximately 2.5 miles east of Tower House Road to 2.5 miles east of Whiskeytown Lake, about 11 miles west of Redding, and created a new two-lane expressway with a 40-foot-wide roadbed. At the time, construction of Whiskeytown Dam on Clear Creek would ultimately inundate the original townsite of Whiskeytown as well as the existing highway. Once completed, the reservoir would store 250,000 acre-feet of water as part of the Central Valley Project, serving as a key link in transferring water from the Trinity River at Lewiston to the Sacramento River at Keswick. As documented in the March–April 1962 edition of California Highways and Public Works, the relocation project reshaped the region and established the corridor still in use today. Now, more than 60 years later, that legacy continues with the Whiskey Creek Bridge Replacement Project, which will bring critical upgrades to meet modern transportation needs. The project will replace the existing bridge with a new, wider structure designed to improve safety and accessibility for all users. Planned improvements include: - A wider bridge deck to better accommodate vehicle traffic - Wider shoulders for increased driver safety and emergency access - A separate bike and pedestrian path, enhancing connectivity and supporting active transportation - Upgraded guardrail systems and safety features to meet current design standards In addition to improving the travel experience, the project is designed with long-term durability in mind, ensuring the bridge can continue serving the region for decades to come. “This project is about delivering a safer, stronger bridge that will serve the community well into the future, while minimizing impacts to the traveling public during construction,” said Construction Engineer Tim Bade. “We’re proud to be part of a project that not only improves the corridor but also preserves an important piece of its history.” One of the most unique aspects of the project is how it ties directly back to the original structure. The abutments and piers, originally constructed with future expansion in mind, will be incorporated into the new bridge design, demonstrating the remarkable foresight of the engineers who built the corridor in the 1960s. “What makes this project especially meaningful is the connection between past and present,” said Project Manager Alyson Sinclair. “The original bridge was built with future expansion in mind, and today we’re able to carry that vision forward while improving safety and accessibility for the traveling public.” By blending the legacy of the original structure with modern design, this project honors the past while preparing the corridor for the future. More than 60 years after it was first built with expansion in mind, the Whiskey Creek Bridge is entering its next chapter.

You might not always think about it, but there are plenty of different bourbons out there. So which ones are the top picks? Here are 10 fantastsic bourbons under 100 pounds. Jim Beam Single Barrel We kick off our list with a single barrel edition from Jim Beam. As you might expect this particular bourbon comes from just one barrel at a time. The whiskey offers notes of caramel. vanilla and oak roast in a balanced whole. The price of the whiskey is not even half of the 100 pounds we are taking as a limit. Elijah Craig Small Batch This Small Batch is crafted from whiskeys aged eight to twelve years. The Elijah Craig distillery boasts a rich history dating back to the 18th century, so it absolutely earns a spot on this list. This bourbon is smooth and warming with notes of oak, baked apples, cinnamon, honey, wood smoke, and a touch of nutmeg. The finish is long and delicately sweet, with hints of dark fruit, nutmeg, and toasted oak. A true classic that belongs on your shelf. Michter's 20 Year Old bourbon - Photo: Michter's Distillery Michter's Bourbon Next up is a bold bourbon in a distinctive bottle. Michter’s Bourbon carries a signature character with plenty of nuance. Each Small Batch release is limited to no more than two dozen barrels, often aged for over eight years. The result is exceptionally high quality. Expect sweetness with vanilla, peach, plums, a touch of smoke, charred oak, gentle tannins, and a subtle bitter edge. A great choice if you’re into whiskies with plenty of body. Willett's Pot Still Reserve Willett’s Pot Still Reserve delivers a soft, highly refined profile of vanilla, coconut, and crème brûlée. It’s beautifully balanced with cedarwood, cinnamon, mint, and a hint of fennel. The finish is long and elegant. If this were judged on looks alone, it would take the number one spot. A true conversation starter when guests come over—fantastic to put on the table! And it’s a delicious pour to boot. Maker's Mark 46 Moving along to a bourbon that sparks strong love-it-or-hate-it reactions: Maker’s Mark 46. It’s a twist on the standard expression, which makes it particularly intriguing. This bourbon brings plenty of spice, thanks to the French oak staves inserted into the barrels. Using oak staves sets its flavor apart from the rest of our top ten. The bottle’s signature red wax adds to the bourbon’s personality. You’ll find loads of vanilla, caramel, and spice. Will this bottle be your friend or your foe? Angel's Envy At number 5 we have Angel’s Envy. This bourbon is finished in ex-port barrels, lending flavors of ripe red fruit, hints of vanilla, caramel, and dark chocolate. The port finish adds a gentle sweetness on the finish. It’s a fantastic one for seasoned bourbon fans to try. The blend of vanilla with soft fruit makes this bourbon a unique addition to your collection. Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is a real crowd-pleaser, great for newcomers as well. Like its sibling Woodford Reserve, it’s wonderfully balanced. The name “Double Oaked” says it all. This bourbon has matured in two different types of casks. It’s finished in heavily toasted barrels, which bring extra softness and sweetness. Love a rich, full flavor with notes of vanilla, caramel, toffee, and chocolate? Then this is a top choice. Four Roses Single Barrel We’ve reached the top three of our Top 10 best bourbons under 100 euros. In the coveted third spot is Four Roses Single Barrel. This bourbon is aged for eight years in American oak. With its hallmark pear and vanilla profile, Four Roses has become world-famous. But the Single Barrel version brings extra character. It’s sweet, approachable, and boasts a long finish. You can find Four Roses Single Barrel on the shelf for less than its proof (fifty). A well-deserved third place. Wild Turkey 101 When it comes to incredible value for money, Wild Turkey 101 says it all. For around thirty euros, this bourbon delivers a well-balanced flavor profile. With its high 50.5% ABV, it’s bold and robust, starting with a powerful kick. Flavors of caramel, vanilla, and spice melt into a smooth finish. Not super complex, just a solid, quality bourbon. Great for everyday sipping, and perfectly fine to pour for an experienced whisky drinker. Eagle Rare 10 year old And now we arrive at the final bottle. Who else but Eagle Rare to take the gold? The bald eagle on the bottle stands for power. Fitting, because this bourbon reigns supreme at the top. The unique experience delivered by this ten-year-old bourbon is nothing short of exceptional. Notes of caramel, vanilla, and toffee, layered with hints of oak and leather, bring real complexity. The balance between sweet and spicy makes it truly distinctive. Like its price, the finish is velvety smooth. This bourbon has won double gold an impressive five times at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. A must-have for your collection!
